Project Title: The Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Lab
Project Summary: The Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Lab (https://alfven.princeton.edu) offers opportunities for students to be involved in physics and engineering research on advanced propulsion for spacecraft. The present focus is on high-power plasma propulsion, called magnetoplasmadynamic (MPD) thrusters, for heavy cargo and piloted missions to the Moon and Mars.
Student Roles and Responsibilities: Help in basic research tasks and learn new concepts and techniques (calculations, basic design, basic experimental data acquisition…)
