Laboratory Learning Program 2024 - Fast hardware for multiplexed quantum sensing (ECE-01)

Research Opportunity Number: ECE-01

Project Title: Fast hardware for multiplexed quantum sensing

Project Summary: This project is focused on developing new hardware for multiplexed quantum sensors based on nitrogen vacancies in diamond. Multiplexing would enable many applications in condensed matter and biological sensing, but it requires many new technical innovations in large scale addressing and readout, including real-time logic. This project will focus on FPGA programming for integration of fast feedback loops into the experiment, as well as characterization of multiplexed readout fidelity.

Student Roles and Responsibilities: The student will work on implementing a fast feedback loop for charge state pre-selection in a multiplexed quantum sensor array. Some FPGA and Python programming will be used.
