Laboratory Learning Program 2024 - Sensing and Classification using Silicon Photonic Neural Network Chips (ECE-04)

Research Opportunity Number: ECE-04

Project Title: Sensing and Classification using Silicon Photonic Neural Network Chips

Project Summary: The Lightwave Lab at Princeton University conducts fundamental research and applications using silicon photonic neural network chips. The summer project will focus on sensing and classification of continuous time series signals, such as acoustic and radio frequency signals, using silicon photonic chips available at the Lightwave Lab.

Student Roles and Responsibilities: The student is expected to be able to collect data from the existing setup, develop AI/ML models for data processing, and analyze experimental results. Proficient knowledge using Python and Python based ML/data processing modules is recommended.

Additional Considerations: Start and end dates are flexible, but the student should be available essentially full-time (8 hours per day).
