Project Title: Investigating the Responses of Bacteria to Stress When Starved
Project Summary: Project will investigate resource allocation of bacteria that are starved for iron, which is an aspect of nutritional immunity, when presented with additional stressors imposed by the immune system, such as the antibacterial nitric oxide.
Student Roles and Responsibilities: To assist graduate student with genetic manipulation, cultivation, and assays with a BSL1 level Escherichia coli strain using techniques and equipment that are typical for microbiology research.
Additional Considerations: Student must be available approximately 2.5 days per week in a row (MTW, TWTh, or WThF).
